As part of our Japanese works of art we are delighted to offer this most charming Meiji Period 1868-1912, study of a bronze and mixed metal chin dog, the playful pup is cast with his front paws rested upon an intricately decorated mixed metal ball, the ball itself inlaid with geometric silver and copper decoration as well as giving the appearance of being segmented with the use of fine silver wire detailing, the majestic chin dogs pose and overall characteristics are incredibly realistic, the long coat in particular has been cast and chiseled in fine detail, the dogs eyes picked out in silver and shakudo to a lifelike effect, a delightful slightly larger scale and heavy quality Japanese bronze okimono that would sit equally comfortably within a cabinet or as a fantastic feature upon a shelf or piece of furniture within the home .
