As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this super quality Edo period tsuba from the famous Soten school of makers , the tsuba is formed from solid shakudo chiselled in deep relief usually with famous battle scenes , the many Samurai warriors are captured in various battles including fighting from a ship, the characters are decorated in high relief with the use of Gold , Silver and other copper alloys, the tsuba is signed on both signed by one of the Soten school makers , I do not profess to be a specialist sword fitting expert, but simply as a piece of Japanese metalwork it is fantastic quality and condition !
