As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this heavy gauge decorative mixed metal vase , the body of the vase is made from a very dense metal known as Sentoku (yellow bronze), this alloy when cooled quickly leaves a Gold flake effect under the incredibly highly polished surface, to this almost sand coloured effect the artist has onlaid three Crayfish amidst Seaweed and swirling water, the Crustations are applied in mixed metals including Silver and Shibuichi, their eyes cleverly picked out in black Shakudo , the Seaweed and other decoration picked out in Shibuichi and Shakudo in very fine detail , the vase was manufactured towards the end of the Meiji period around 1910 .

The vase is highly decorative and in fine condition with minor surface wear .
