As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large pair of high quality vases by the highly regarded Meiji period Nogawa factory ,the main bodies of these unusual pear shaped vases have been painstakingly decorated with a multitude of Manchurian Cranes amidst a lakeside setting , the birds and reeds formed from onlaid mixed alloys including Shibuichi, Shakudo, Gold and Silver , the necks of the vases are further decorated with stylised bats amidst a band of high quality mixed metal flora between gilded rings , the top rims again detailed with flying Cranes beneath a chiselled low relief gilded sky, the underside of each vase stamped with the Nogawa seal, a finely decorated pair of vases from a well known producer of high quality metal wares .
The condition is lovely throughout.
