As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this beautiful Edo period c 1840 boxwood Netsuke of an Akita puppy holding in its mouth an abalone shell toy on a string, he is sat in a playful position with one paw holding down the abalone shell whilst chewing the string attached, the eyes are inset with horn, the colour is great , a very tactile and obviously well used Netsuke , a charming addition to your Netsuke collection.

The condition is lovely and original .
