As part of our Japanese Works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Silvered Bronze Okimono of a Pheasant by a leading Meiji period Artist specialising in Birds “Masatsune”, the bird is captured in fine detail upon a naturalistic Wooden stand, his feathers well carved , he stands in a realistic pose with his wings outstretched, his head, legs and Sharp claws further detailed with Gilt and Shakudo highlights, signed to the underside in a Gilt tablet that reads “Masatsune”, a good quality decorative Okimono from a highly regarded Meiji period artist, circa 1900.
