As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Meiji period Gilt Bronze and multi Patinated Okimono of a kneeling Archer, the Warrior kneels in an aggressive pose with his bow fully drawn ready to release the arrow, the artist Yoshimitsu has captured this aggressive action to perfection and in fine detail, the Warriors elaborate robe and armour is decorated with Gilt highlights including various Mons, the body parts patinated in a Coppered Bronze, his menacing eyes picked out in Shakudo, he kneels upon a very fine quality pierced Hardwood base and is signed in a Gilt tablet to the rear of his robe “Yoshimitsu”, the artsit Yoshimitsu was a highly regarded maker of this type of Mixed metal Okimono and emulated other artists working in similar styles such as “Akasofu Gyoko” and “Miyao Eisuke”, a fine addition to your Japanese works of art collection.
