As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this high quality Meiji period(1868 -1912) c1900  Silvered bronze Okimono of a duck , presumably drawn as if it was floating in the water, one wing gently lifted to the side of his body as he gazes to that particular side , the Meiji period artist Masatsugu Saku has painstakingly cast the Duck in such realistic detail with the use of mixed metal alloys to patinate the beak and feet in a gorgeous Shakudo black , the eyes nicely picked out in gilt with Silver pupils, the artists gilt tablet is onlaid to the underside, a charming Okimono ideal for display on a glass shelf or any stand to suit your room setting whether contemporary or Japanese taste.
