As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Taisho period 1912-1926, pierced silver fruit dish artist sealed Tankin, the Yamaguchi Tankin Kabushiki Gaisha were a shop founded in Osaka specializing in the commissions of metalwork, clocks and silver items produced by leading artisans of the period. On this occasion we have a large shaped and pierced silver bowl absolutely ideal for fruit or just display, the footed bowl is finely pierced with Phoenix ( Hoo- Ho Birds ) each side of a tree , the footrim pierced with Butterflies aside leafs, the heavy quality bowl has patinated to the deep grey black colour that only appears on high grade Japanese silver , the bowl comes complete with its original Tomobako ( storage box) which also carries the Tankin seal, a fine example of Japanese silver work of the late Meiji / Taisho period.
