As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large and most enchanting Meiji Period 1868-1912, study of a ceramic Bijin seated upon a wooden display stand , this serene beauty is painted in a typical kutani pallette with a mixture of green, blue, gilt and orange decoration to her kimono, her jet black hair impeccably tied into a pony tail that stretches the length of her back and under her resting hand, her facial features finely rendered. The okimono rests perfectly upon an oriental hardwood stand, that whilst non original has apparently been her resting place for many years, judging by the light staining to the top surface,a captivating study to brighten up a space in your home.
