As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this charming Meiji Period (1868-1912) mixed metal flower vase, artist signed Yukikazu for the well recorded Kuroda company of Kyoto. On this occasion the highly accomplished artist has decorated a copper vase with mixed alloys including silver, gold and shakudo to portray the most gorgeous scene of two Bijin dressed in lavish kimono, the ladies can be seen discussing the choice of flowers that they are picking from beneath the limbs of a cherry blossom tree in full bloom, the scene presumably played out in Kyoto during the Sakura season . This splendid vase is artist signed to the rear as well as sealed by the Kuroda company of Kyoto to the underside, a most delightful subject played out on a fine quality copper vase from this highly accomplished artist.
