Well the tri- annual “Antiques for everyone” certainly was HOT on the heels of Summer Olympia, on Tuesday (the set up day) and with a scorching heat in the mid thirties, the burning question on many dealers lips was understandably “will the punters arrive ? ”
Thankfully the temperature cooled a little by opening day Thursday, and true to form in they flocked, literally running to the stand , between 11am-2pm I never had the time to exchange two words with my colleagues assisting on the stand , Russian , Japanese , Australian and many UK based clients purchased a good mix of Japanese works of art of varying price ranges, including fresh goods reserved for this particular show , the remaining three days produced a much quieter but consistent flow of repeat customers and new clients visiting us , some finding items that appealed to their particular collecting fields and others just enthusiastically admiring and handling the latest stock.
I would like to thank all my old friends and the new customers who visited us, and a special thank you to the organisers for making the show user friendly in particularly oppressive conditions.
Our next Antiques for everyone will be held at the NEC between the 1st and 4th of December , just in time for Christmas .
I look forward to seeing you there .
Have a great Summer .
Steve
