As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this superb quality pair of onlaid mixed metal tapered bronze square section vases by the highly regarded Nogawa factory , each slender tapering vase is decorated with four scenes that would either oppose or mirror the other vase depending on your choice for display, the various scenes depict subjects of birds and Butterflies amidst mixed flora, Lotus , Prunus blossom and Bamboo, the birds include a silver Egret and a mixed metal Pheasant ,the sides are predominantly decorated in high quality onlaid work with the use of mixed alloys such as Gold, Silver, Shakudo and Shibuichi to name but a few, the vases are sealed to the underside with the traditional Nogawa seal and were manufactured during the latter part of the Meiji period , Circa 1900 , a great pair of high quality vases for your collection.
The condition is quite superb with minimal age related wear !!
