As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this lovely quality Meiji period Ivory Okimono depicting a beautiful Goddess , probably Kannon Bodhisattva, Kannon is one of Asia’s and Japan’s most revered deities, here she stands with her hands clasped holding a basket containing a large Fish, she is dressed in a flowing robe and is adorned with finely decorated jewels across her chest and upon her headdress ,this gorgeous one piece carving is signed to the underside in a three character red signature that reads Nagamori .
