As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Ivory Okimono depicting a couple seated around a Hibachi aside a low table, the table adorned with bowls of food and a Sake pot, the female appears to be blowing the flames in order to heat the pan of food upon the Hibachi, meanwhile the male eats his food from a bowl using his chopsticks, the artist “Seirin” has captured this common but charming everyday Japanese subject in exquisite detail, the fingernails, immaculate tied hair and decoration to the clothing are just some of the details captured by the artist, signed to the underside in a red seal signature tablet that translates to read “Seirin”, a super quality Meiji period Okimono for your collection.
