As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this super quality slender bronze Meiji period vase depicting species of native trees, the large central tree is a pine heavily onlaid with the use of Shakudo and mixed alloys to great effect , beneath the Pine sits a Prunus or Cherry blossom tree , the blossom is intricately onlaid with Silver leaves and Gold staymen, to the left leans another mixed metal Pine tree, above which flies a small bird, the vase is a heavy quality bronze and has been artist signed in two places, a quite simple Japanese taste mixed metal vase, the signatures reads : Yamamoto Kōken (Yamamoto Yukinari ), a further example of this artists work can be found in the Khalili collection Metalwork II plate 89 .
