As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this Meiji period ( 1868 -1912 ) circa: 1900 Gold lacquer and Shibayama Ostrich egg on stand, the Egg extensively decorated with Pheasants, Butterflies and other native birds and insects , further decorated with scenes of Flowers and blossoming Trees , in Gold Takamakie with Shibayama style inlays of Coral and Shell, the wooden base also decorated in Gold Hiramakie with Grape vine decoration, a great addition to your Japanese works of art collection.

Condition report :

In good condition with minor age related wear to the lacquer .
