As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this unusual shaped Meiji Period 1868-1912, Satsuma vase, richly decorated by the highly regarded artist Meizan, not to be confused with Yabu Meizan, the late 19th century artist has picked a blank vase of complex circular torus form and painstakingly painted it with panels of bijin and children amidst floral garden scenes, a common trait of Meizans work is the use of lavish gilt stippling as well as bold enamel geometric borders applied to the neck, foot and circumference of this particular piece , artist signed to the foot rim on each side,  a smashing addition to your Japanese ceramics collection.
