As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this quite majestic Meiji period 1868-1912 silvered Bronze Okimono of a Snowy Egret , the heavy and fine quality Bird is fitted to its original naturalistic carved wood base depicting Lotus Pods amidst a rocky waters edge outcrop , the highly regarded artist has captured this majestic Bird in an alert pose , striding purposefully head turned and likely to be gazing towards the water searching for its next meal , the finely cast and chiseled silvered Bronze body stands upon Shibuichi legs with Shakudo decorated toes and is further highlighted with a Shakudo Beak and Gilt and Shakudo Eyes, artist signed in an oval cartouche to the underside by the highly acclaimed Bird Okimono artist Hidenao , a delightful object for your oriental themed room or a fine addition to your Japanese works of art collection .
