As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this late Meiji / Taisho period 1868-1912/1912-1926 , circa 1920’s damascened Iron hinged trinket box , the black ground of this box has been decorated with a spray of Gold and Silver Damascened native Flora to the lid , the lid and sides further decorated with mixed metal Butterflies , opening the box reveals a bright gilded interior scene of a Bird in flight amidst Bamboos , a heavy and useful lidded box that would make a great gift for a loved one or an ideal addition to your Japanese works of art collection .
