As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this most charming Meiji Period 1868-1912, ceramic okimono of a beautiful bijin decorated in vibrant Kutani enamels, the serene bijin stands in a flowing kimono that she attempts to gently raise from the floor, albeit on this occasion the playful kitten has decided that it would be great fun to get involved, the kimono delicately painted in red, gilt and black enamels upon a green ground, her obi tied impeccably in a bow to her waist, her hair is immaculately coiffured and held in place with a comb and other adornments. The okimono is an absolute delight and is offered in lovely original condition.
