As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this most unusual Meiji Period (1868-1912) Satsuma vase stemming from the highly regarded studios of Kinkozan. The raised in relief neck is encircled by three Manchurian cranes beneath entwined willow fronds, the graduated cobalt blue and cream body finely decorated with scenes of Mandarin ducks in flight and at rest amidst a waterside setting. The underside of the vase bears a red four character signature as well as an impressed mark for the Kinkozan of Kyoto studios, as well as the old collectors label. A most unusual vase to add to your Japanese ceramics collection .
