As part of our Japanese Works of art collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality little Meiji period ( 1868 – 1912 ) okimono of a seated pipe smoking peasant, he is sat lent upon a stool gazing at something that has clearly grabbed his attention whilst in the process of filling his extremely long pipe with tobacco, to his side he also carries a large Tabako-Bon, he is finely detailed to the underside and inset with a red Lacquer seal signature that reads “Eisen”.
