As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this high quality onlaid mixed metal box manufactured by the Highly regarded Miyao Eisuke company in the latter part of the Meiji period ,(circa 1895) , the nicely shaped box is decorated in relief with onlaid details of two characters dancing in front of saplings welcoming in the new year, each figure is decorated and finely chiselled with the use of Bronze, Copper, Gold and silver amongst other alloys ,the silver face is exquisite, the sides of the box have been engraved with instruments including a Drum and a Sho ( vertical pipes) and a garden scene, each further patinated with multi coloured gold highlights, the box is signed to the underside in a chiselled signature that reads Miyao Sei (made by Miyao), and is further artist signed to the top of the lid , the interior of this super quality box is silver lined .
