As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer the third of a selection of Edo period (1615 – 1868) mixed metal Menuki ( Sword fittings ), this pair of Menuki depicting Floral scenes, the first formed in Silver with gilt highlighted Chrysanthemums and leaves , the second formed in Shakudo with gilt highlights as the flower heads , Menuki were formed as Mixed metal ornaments, usually in pairs, and were bound beneath the silk handles of Samurai swords, as decoration or lucky charms.
Condition Report: In good used condition with some age related wear.
