As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this super quality inlaid mixed metal jar and cover, the urn shaped vessel stands upon three stylistic shaped feet in the form of mythical fish, the heavy quality body is finely inlaid in geometric patterns throughout , the artist has used Gold, Silver and Shibuichi amongst other alloys to create a most unusual stylish vessel, the shoulders are decorated with a neck of gilded onlaid floral swags above which sits the snuggly fitting lid , surmounted with a finely cast solid silver Tiger, a very unusual high quality vase from the early Meiji period circa 1880 and signed to the underside by an artist known as Masuzaki Yoshiaki .
