As part of our Japanese works of art selection we are delighted to offer this large and fine quality Meiji period 1868-1912 Satsuma vase by the highly regarded Kinkozan studio, the main body of this baluster vase is predominately decorated in a traditional cobalt blue with sensational gilt floral decoration that instantly defines it as a Kinkozan vase, the blue base colour further decorated with geometric gilt decoration and banding to the neck, the opposing central panels are formed in delightful heart shapes, one side decorated with Bijins and children amidst pavilions in a landscape setting, and what is surely intended as the front heart shaped panel is beautifully decorated with two individual cartouche of Bijin and Samurai within a backdrop of gilded stylized clouds, the underside signed in a crisp and clear gilt signature for Kinkozan , a fantastic and perfect addition to your Japanese Satsuma collection .
