As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this exceptional quality and condition Japanese Meiji Period 1868-1912 ivory & shibayama table screen, the two piece screen is profusely decorated to the main panel with a cockerel and hen presiding over their chick with what appears to be a centipede in the foreground , this panel further decorated with an exquisite floral display , the reverse of this lift out panel is decorated with a cricket and a bumble bee amidst an incredibly high quality sprig of leaves and flora ,the lower oblong panels decorated with butterflies among floral sprays on both sides, the remainder of the frame further decorated with eighteen various insects including moths , butterflies, crickets, ladybirds, spiders and bees.

An absolute delight finished in the highest quality shibayama inlays, a great example for your shibayama or Japanese works of art collection,
