As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality charming Meiji period 1868-1912 bronze okimono , the subject depicts a young boy playing a flute while sat upon the back of a recumbent Oxen , the young lad is obviously taking a break from his work as he carries a large wicker basket and sickle upon his back, the Oxen is tethered with a rope through a ring in his nose, the quality of the Oxen is superior to many groups of this type with very realistic detailing throughout, the bronze is signed to the underside, a captivating price range okimono for your collection .
