As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Meiji period 1868-1912 Satsuma bowl artist signed by Ryouzan , the shallow dish has been painstakingly decorated throughout the interior with cartouches depicting multiple shrine and landscape settings capturing Bijins and children attending various ceremonies and processions , the outer surface of the bowl again finely decorated with cartouches depicting standing Samurai as well as groups of scholars in various pursuits , the cartouches sit between formal geometric borders below a finely detailed and gilded top rim , the bowl is signed to the underside in a gilt signature that translates to Ryouzan and bears an old collectors label , a fine quality addition to your Satsuma cabinet collection .
