As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Japanese silver wire vase , this large and unusual vase is enamelled in the traditional midnight blue ground with a highly decorative neck and shoulder border enhanced with white sixteen petal imperial chrysanthemum mons, the main body of the vase comes alive where the artist has captured a plethora of native Doves flocking around the entire body and in turn landing to feed , the birds are captured in realistic coloured enamels between finely detailed silver wire , an absolute delight and although unsigned this vase was made at the golden time of cloisonne making by an artist working in the manner of Hayashi Kodenji.
The condition is vital in Cloisonne and we are pleased to report no damage or restorations, only a minimal light age related surface scratch , a superb addition to your Japanese collection .
