As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large and imposing Meiji period 1868-1912 , circa 1900, Kutani vase , the main body of this highly decorative and well painted vase depicts various scenes of Samurai Warriors in battle, the Samurai aggressively wielding their Katana, long poles (Nagata) as well as Wakizashi and Tanto , each warrior finely dressed for battle , the rear of the vase further decorated with a large Snow capped Pine tree, the base and shoulders particularly well painted with stylised gilt patterns as well as more formal geometric Floral bands and Garlands , nicely signed to the underside and bearing an original label , the signature broadly translating to read ,  Kaga Kutani , Ishizaki Company , Takekoshi ,this would indicate the type of ware , place and company of manufacture as well as the artist signature , a fine quality impressive vase for your Japanese themed room or Japanese works of art collection .
