As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this Edo period (1615-1868) circa: 1800  Japanese Wooden Netsuke depicting a Turtle nestled inside its shell, the tactile and great colour Netsuke finely carved with lifelike detailing, the tail and claws barely visible and his head just peering out of the shell, the Himotoshi cleverly formed from a removable scale of the Turtles back,  artist signed to the underside in a Two character signature that translates to read ” Masatomo”, a great addition to your Japanese work of art collection.

Lovely original used condition with miniscule old chip to underside edge .
