As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer the fourth of a selection of Edo period (1615 – 1868) mixed metal Menuki ( Sword fittings ), this Menuki depicting a Kabuto ( samurai warriors helmet ), formed of copper, it has been nicely decorated with silver highlights on the face and to the top of the helmet,  …… Menuki were formed as Mixed metal ornaments, usually in pairs, and were bound beneath the silk handles of Samurai swords, as decoration or lucky charms.

 

Condition Report: In good used condition with some age related wear.
