As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Meiji Period 1868-1912 , Satsuma ware vase from the highly regarded workshops of Kinkozan, the vase predominantly painted in cobalt blue with outstanding gilt decoration instantly recognisable as work from the higher echelons of the Kinkozan studios, the main shaped cartouche is decorated with a very busy mountainous landscape scene depicting characters at work amidst pavilions and temples with figures also crossing a river upon a bridge, the reverse by contrast depicts a very tranquil garden scene with fine flora overhanging a lakeside setting with a finely worked fence panel to the foreground, the vase is signed in a black and gilt seal to the base and also bears the factory impressed mark, another delightful high quality ceramic piece for your cabinet collection.
