As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality highly decorative pair of Meiji period Cloisonné vases, the squat vases are enamelled in a light blue ground with raised coloured flowers decorated using the scarce Moriage technique, this technique was not perfected until the later part of the Meiji period circa 1910 (known as the Golden age of Cloisonné) after a collaboration between Kumeno Teitaro and Ando Jubei , it is not common for pieces to survive intact when compared to the mass production of the traditional Cloisonné techniques, larger Moriage vases by renowned artists are in such high demand they often change hands for tens of thousands of pounds per piece (even damaged), these decorative little vases are in fantastic condition and sit on silvered rims with a matching silvered neck .

Approximate sizes:

Height:  3 5/8″    9.3 cm

Depth:    3.75″     9.5 cm

Free worldwide delivery included in the price of these vases .
