As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this exquisite solid silver Shibayama decorated panel , the panel stands upon pierced and lobed feet which allow it to stand as a dish , the ten highly elaborate silver segments are inset with individual ivory panels each decorated with Shibayama style floral detail , the Gold lacquer central panel is exquisitely decorated to depict a Dovecot beneath a Prunus blossom tree, the birds feeding and resting around the base of the tree with other birds resting upon the branches above, the Shibayama style detailing finished in Abalone, coral and other semi precious shell, with the tree itself finely carved from Coconut wood , the tray signed to the rear in a three character signature that reads Masayaki , a delightful cabinet piece or wall hanging panel from the opulent Meiji Period.
