As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this comical but finely carved ball shaped okimono , Meiji period and depicting a group of around seven Toads clambering amongst three Terrapins, the Toads and Terrapins have been enhanced with stained black eyes , the Toads looking rather sleepy , the form is a circular one piece carved okimono with a flat bottom that houses the artists inset signature seal, signed by a netsuke artist called ICHIMIN , very tactile in the hand and size wise it is somewhere between a golf and small pool ball, a great addition to your okimono or Netsuke collection.
The condition is superb throughout.
