As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large and unusual form Meiji Period (1868-1912), bronze and mixed metal vase manufactured in the style of Suzuki Chokichi, the large bronze vase rests within a fitted base with legs designed as mythical sea creatures , the base, legs and lower band of the vase inlaid in mixed metals in archaic style. The main body of the vase depicts a bird in flight amidst foliage and ripened pomegranate fruits, this vibrant mixture of autumnul patination finely worked in a manner typical of the works of the Imperial artist Suzuki Chokichi. A very fine decorative mixed metal bronze vase that would sit well within a room of your choice or as an addition to your existing Japanese metalwork collection.
