As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality one piece Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) Ivory Okimono,  depicting the charming scene of a Bijin carrying her child upon her back , the female tightly clutches the Baby’s sling as he seemingly nods off to sleep,  she is modelled holding an umbrella and wearing traditional Japanese robes and sandals , her hair tied up immaculately and held in place with a comb and head scarf , this one piece Okimono is artist signed to the underside in a two character signature that translates to read ” Rakumin”, a great addition to your Japanese works of art collection.
