As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this high quality and humorous pair of Meiji period (1868-1912) onlaid Bronze vases , these unusual vases depict the moment where a Silver Fox hides beneath a Large Leaf whilst looking over to a rather chubby mixed metal Tanuki ( Racoon Dog),  each animal surrounded by a plethora of mixed metal onlaid foliage , the native Flora picked out in Gold , Silver , Shibuichi and other alloys upon a Katakiribori carved Bronze background, these delightful and heavy little vases are artist signed by the Kyoto artist Taguchi , a very nice pair of Meiji period mixed metal vases ideal as a gift for a loved one , or as an addition to your own high quality Japanese works of art collection.
