As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this finely detailed Meiji period ( 1868-1912 ) Ivory Okimono depicting two drunken men , the artist has captured the moment a man under the influence has fallen from a bench, he is watched by his drinking partner who has thrown one hand upon his head in horror, various drinking vessels fall from the bench, a very comical high quality rendition of everyday life , captured in fine detail by the artist Munekazu , the Okimono signed in a red tablet to the underside .
