As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Edo period shibuichi & mixed metal Tsuba depicting a seated Handaka Sennin holding aloft a censor from which emerges a gold dragon in a whisp of silver cloud , the reverse decorated as a river beneath a waterfall, the subject matter rendered in various soft alloys including gold, silver and shakudo, another of the tsuba from a single owner collection , this particular piece artist signed translating to read Hamano Toshinao, recorded as a late 18th century metalworker.
