As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality little pair of Satsuma vases each artist signed by Kizan , the vases are decorated with tranquil garden scenes depicting characters in traditional dress sitting beside their houses and beneath Prunus blossom branches, as earlier vases of this type they are heavily enamelled throughout with jewelled foot rim and shoulders and finely gilded necks , each vase signed to the underside and comes complete with later Tomobako’s (boxes) for safe storage , a great value pair of miniature vases from the mid Meiji period circa 1880-90 , ideal to enhance your Japanese collection or as a special gift .
