As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this charming ivory okimono depicting Ebisu one of the seven Japanese lucky gods of good fortune, Ebisu is depicted going about his business and stands upon a rocky outcrop with waves crashing around his feet , this lucky fisherman has hooked into a chunky sea bream , he uses his bamboo rod combined with his skills to bring the fish to the shore , the one piece okimono is carved in great detail throughout, the well detailed ivory bamboo rod and wire line are removable for safe transportation , signed to the underside with a two character mark .

The condition is superb throughout and has mellowed nicely with age.
