As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this highly decorative and humerous pair of multi patinated heavy bronze vases , the large vases are individually decorated with great detail, vase one has a trio of large multi patinated Carp swimming amongst reeds and lotus plants , the artist has cleverly cast the vases in heavy relief giving the impression that the carp are indeed swimming under water, the other vase has a pair of really comical toads swimming at full stretch amidst similar reeds , together with a very well detailed high relief Lotus seed pod , this vase also has the addition of a small pair of fantail fish and a highly decorative large onlaid autumnal leaf, each vase is further detailed with high quality decorative styalised geometric borders to the base and shoulders and are signed by Otake Norikuni to the underside in a silver tablet , a fabulous highly decorative pair of good quality Japanese Meiji period mixed metal vases.
