As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this lovely quality Meiji period stained Ivory Okimono depicting a group of rats swarming over a tied sack of grain, the artist has captured the seven Rodents in great detail , they have chewed their way through the sack of grain and can be seen clambering inside, peering out and attempting access through the top, each of the creatures has finely incised fur and inset jet black eyes, the Okimono is signed with an illegible cursive Kao to the underside, this is a fabulous quality ivory Okimono with a lovely mellow colouring and will enhance any good collection.

The condition is lovely throughout.
