As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this brightly enamelled highly decorative vase from the Kutani factory , the large ribbed vase is predominately painted with a sea blue and white backdrop upon which are painted a myriad of Marine life in fascinating detail , the artist has captured Fugu (puffer fish) , flying Fish, Gurnard , and many other species of native Fish including the largest being a painting of a Crayfish, the artist would have simply been painting from memory seafood items that form part of the staple diet of Japan , signed to the underside, a very colourful decorative object from the late 19th century Meiji period.
The condition is good with no damages or restorations.
