As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this small but highly attractive cloisonné vase decorated with an Egret amidst foliage in a lakeside setting, the vase has been manufactured using the Basse-taille technique with the use of vibrant coloured foils behind the highly fired clear enamel surface, then complimented by the build up of raised coloured enamel decoration in the Moriage style , this particular vase is mounted with solid silver and artist stamped to the underside, Coben and Ferster list a very similar stamped seal as that of Tomiki Shobei .
The condition of cloisonné enamel is vitally important and we are pleased to say that the enamel is perfect.
