As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this rare and unusual shaped Satsuma Koro (incense burner) by the highly coveted Meiji period artist Yabu Meizan , the six sided Koro is decorated on each panel with traditional Japanese subjects including tranquil garden scenes , a Bird in a Maple tree , Boats upon a lake amidst a mountainous backdrop and a delightful panel of Children playing around a water fountain, the Koro sits upon three delicately decorated black and Gilt feet in the usual Meizan style of paint , the lid and shoulders painstakingly detailed in high quality Millefiori with Chrysanthemums in relief , the condition of this piece leads me to the conclusion that it has spent much of its life tucked away in a cabinet , artist signed in a double Gilt banded signature seal for the artist Yabu Meizan , a fantastic addition to your Japanese works of art collection.
